The role of cabin crew personnel is to ensure the safety and comfort of their passengers throughout the flight, whilst providing excellent customer service. As well as having a ‘happy to help’ attitude, Cabin Crew have some pretty serious responsibilities.

As a passenger you will be aware that before every take-off Cabin Crew provide vital safety information to reassure every passenger that safety protocols are important and in place. These instructions are demonstrated by trained, adaptable well-presented professionals.

What do Cabin Crew do on a shift?

In-flight duties for cabin crew can vary based on factors such as flight duration and team size. However, typical procedures encompass several checks and tasks.

Before the flight:
– Crew attend a pre-flight briefing to receive their assigned positions.
– Details and schedules for the flight are provided.
– Special passenger requirements, such as meal requests, accessibility needs, VIPs, infants needing seats, and other considerations, are communicated to the crew.

Pre-flight duties for cabin crew entail:
– Conducting safety equipment checks.
– Ensuring the aircraft is clean and orderly.
– Verifying the presence of required refreshments, including special dietary items.
– Loading relevant landing cards.
– Checking and restocking first aid equipment as needed.

On Board / During the Flight:
– Welcoming passengers, assisting with luggage, and ensuring seats are secured.
